Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
Keeping Ex-Boyfriend out of house
My boyfriend had been living in my house with me for a little over a year. We broke up and he moved out over a month ago. After several cases of vandalism to my vehicle I installed security cameras. I recorded him checking the mail in my mailbox, and even going to the house. When I contacted the local police was told I would need an eviction notice since he had established residency and that nothing could be done for 30 day. Is there any particular terminoligy I need to use since he has already moved out, and is there nothing I can do for 30 days?
