Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
Landlord pretends rent is late and refuses to show me postmarked envelope. I reference the Postmark Prompt Payment Law and he says that the burden of proof is on the sender to show evidence that such postmark exists (i.e. registered mail, return receipt). Is not the postmarked envelope evidence that he received payment? Do I have to use registered mail to prove it??

Tell him to take a hike. (USPS registered mail with return receipt last time I checked was around $6-$7.)
