landlord threatening eviction

I signed a year's lease and was told that I could have my dog of 14 years, as long as she didn't destroy or bark. She died after renewing the lease for the second time, and my daughter was given a tiny dog as a way to help her deal with the loss. My landlord saw the dog, and told me I would have to get rid of the dog, or move. When I said I would not give up the dog, he said he was giving me thirty days notice. My lease is not up till 8/28/08. Can he do this? Also, I found out that a switch in my garage is connected to their barn, and I have been paying for all this time to light the barn and power the pump to water their animals. How am I supposed to handle this? Thank you!

If the new dog which was never specifically approved by the landlord constitutes a material violation of the lease, then, yes, the landlord can move for eviction.

The power issue is another matter which you could sue for in small claims court if the landlord refuses to reimburse you for your expenditures

in this regard (if you can figure out how much the power which you've allegedly provided gratis was worth).
