Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

getting out of a lease

my daughter signed a yr. lease w/4 other people, without seeing the house. There were several things wrong w/the house, which have not been fixed as of yet. They were to move in 11-15 and pay half month's rent. Three of the of the 5 individuals have moved in on 11-24, with repairs still needed, and she is demanding half of Nov. and the rent for Dec. My daughter is only 18, she made a mistake, and I would like to know any legal way for her to get out of this yr. lease (which she was never given a copy of).

Re: getting out of a lease

If your daughter was 18 when she signed this lease, she did so as an adult, and, consequently, is potentially liable (as each of her co-tenants)for all that is due under this lease until its expiration date.
