Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

lease problem

I am leasing a warehouse/ office space in Virginia. Parking has allways been an issue. There are vacant spaces which have parking in front of them. The complex has recently been sold. The new owner is now making parking an even bigger issue by not allowing even the vacant areas to be used. I have been told that there is nothing that I can do, by the new management company. Does my original lease still stand? I have not signed any new lease aggreement with the new owner/ management company. Is there any civil action that can be taken due to the unfavorable conditions that exist?

Re: lease problem

The new owner takes title to the property subject to the terms and provisions of your prepurchase lease. However, if such terms do not clearly and unambiguously address your right to utilize these vacant parking spaces at issue, the new management company is likely correct in their assertion that you're apparently without a remedy.
