Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
If your lease says your rent is considered late if not received within three days AFTER the due date, and the due date is the 1st, are you considered late on the 4th or the 5th? My landlord wants to charge me a late fee for a check that arrived on the 4th. If 3 days after is the 4th, would not the 5th be the day he can actually charge a fee?

The 4th should be considered timely, the 5th late.
