i got a letter in the mail saying the property i live at ha been sold and we have to move by sept. 1 i have paid july rent the manager said we would not have topay aug. since it had been sold but she is keeping my deposit is she allowed to to that if she dosent own the house i shold get my deposit back or go to the new owners

So, why is this former landlord retaining your deposit? To compensate

her for the cost of repairs to the property for damages incurred while

you were tenants and before it was sold, or for something else?

The answer could make a difference in whether you may be entitled to the

return of this deposit or not.
