Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

i live in a 3 bedroom house. All 3 of us were under 18, so we were required to get a cosigner each. About 2 months ago our roomate Devon skipped town on us. It turns out that when he turned in his lease before we moved in, he never got a cosigner to sign his lease. Now me and my other roomate are stuck covering Devons portion of the rent and bills and we cannot afford to continue renting.

Yeah, you've summed it up quite well, legally speaking, i,e,, you

and the roommate are stuck---unless you can persuade the landlord to let

the two of you exit the lease prematurely based upon this new (and unexpected?) situation.
