Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
I live in Newport News, VA and my landlord failed to provide heat for my family for 6 weeks. It cost me $600 to heat my home during that time and want to recover my damages. The problem was fixed on 12 Feb 2010. Should this go through small claims court or tenants assertion.

Sounds like an issue for a tenant's assertion of an escrow account with the local
general district court.
