My mother owns the house that my husband and I live in. He is very abusive and I want him out of her house. My mom wants to file for a Summons for Unlawful detainer to evict him, does she need an attorney?

No, but she would likely be well-advised to at least consult with an attorney conversant with landlord-tenant and marital matters in the Commonwealth before she undertakes any action (in my opinion).
