Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
Power Issues
I just purchased a new microwave and every time I use it the circut breaker flips causing the TV to turn off. The landlord told me the the microwave is too powerful for the outlet. She told me that I needed to purchase an older microwave. Should I have to settle for an older microwave or should she have to upgrade the power outlets. She said that if its the microwave causing the problems then itis on me. Is that correct?

Re: Power Issues
Yes, assuming that your lease agreeemnt neither states nor implies anything different, I would agree with your landlord, i.e., "it's on you".
