I put a deposit down on an apartment with the intent of signing a lease. Before signing the lease, I changed my mind. Am I able to get my deposit back?

What was the deposit for, security or for an application? Either way, you
should be able to get at least some (if not all) of it back if in fact you never
signed the lease.
