Rights of a tennant if the owner sells house
What are my rights as a tennant if the owner is selling my house and I want to move out. I found a new apartment that is available now. If the current landlord is selling the house and closing on Friday, why can't I forego the usual 30 day's notice to the new owner and move now. Is it right that I have to give the new owner 30 day's notice? Should the new owner get my security deposit? Knowing the sale was pending, I gave the current owners notice of moving on Aug. 1. My 1 year lease rolled into a month to month last August. The only thing we've signed is the initial lease. What are my rights?

The new owner of "your house" takes title subject to the terms of your current lease and your rights and obligations are the same with respect to this new owner as they were in regard to the previous owner. And the same is true with respect to the new owner's rights and obligations with respect to you as a lessee.
In other words, all matters governing your current lease are the same as they were with the previous owner until the lease expires or you go to a month to month lease arrangement(which, perhaps, you're already on).
