Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
I had a roommate since August 2009 who paid by the week. I asked him to leave 11-21-10 and gave him till 12-31-10 to locate a place. At that time he was 2 weeks behind in his payment. This past weekend, now 3wks behind I asked him for his money and he still did not give me anything. Monday morning, 11-29-10 during an argument because i asked for some money, any amount, $25, $20, even $5 dollars because I had nothing. He basically said he would give me some money when he got some and he would bring some that night and not to push it. I told him to bring all the money in the arrears tonight or find somewhere else to live tonight. That was the last time I've seen him. 11-30-10 I had the locks changed. 12-1-10 I called and txt him and told him the locks were changed and to call to make arrangement to get his things by 12-5-10. With no response from him, my question is leagally, what can I do with his things or what do I need to do now?

Better hold on to them for a while. In the meantime, if no payment is
forthcoming from him, you could sue him in small claims court
for your losses.
