Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
My roommates moved out, but they can't be signed off the lease until the 26th of this month. They failed to pay rent for this month, so I have to pay all of the rent plus the late fee, then take them to court. I believe they came to the apartment and took pictures of my friends' stuff to try to show that they've been staying there... My questions are: can they use that against me when I sue them? Or is it not even possible for them to actually prove that people have been staying there? Is there anything you can think of that they COULD use against me in order for them to get out of paying?

If these former roommates were on the lease, they're obligated to pay
for at least their shares of the monthly rent for the final month of the lease irrespective of what these pictures may show (unless they
were legally released from their respective obligations).
