Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
I signed alease stating my deposit which was more than one months rent was not refundable. I have been told that my contract is void b/c VA law states deposits are refundable. Is that true?

Yes, such security deposits are refundable if the lease is covered by the Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act (VRLTA) found at Va. Code Sec. 55-248.15:1.
