Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
My spouse has invited a guest into the house we jointly own in Virginia, for 6 months. We have a toddler in our home, as well. This guest has become confrontational and verbally abusive with me, in private and in front of others, and I want the guest to leave. My spouse will likely not support that. Can I alone serve notice for the guest to leave (it's been less than 30 days) , and what are the implications?

No, your efforts to have this uncongenial guest (at least from your perspective)
depart the premises, should prove unavailing, legally speaking, without the co-owner's concurrence, which apparently would be your wife in the situation described.
Your wife, as the co-owner of this property, has as much right as you to decide
who may be invited in to occupy it (for better or worse).
