Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
I'm a student in VA renting a 2 bedroom apt.in an apt. complex with a room mate that is turning out to be a deadbeat. The lease is in my name and he owes me for his portion of this month's rent. Can I evict him?

While you do not really provide enough facts or define deadbeat, best to let Landlord handle the eviction (document is called a Summons for Unlawful Detainer and you can find on the Virginia Courts website). Also, you need to think about the fact that an eviction may impact your ability to get paid. Talk to the landlord and see if you can work out something. Good luck.
