Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
I am a tenant in an apartment complex, and my landlord failed to turn my rent into the financial overseers of the premises which caused us to recieve a court order for eviction and now the money has been recieved, and they have dropped the case, yet I have found a new place in the fear of losing my home, and cannot get a release from my lease. What are my legal rights in this situation, can I still break my lease in the fear that this will reoccur? I have two young children and fear losing my home over false allegations.

No, since your landlord has now withdrawn or abated the action which had been erroneously taken against you, you would not now have grounds (in my opinion) to prematurely terminate your lease without penalty based upon a fear or speculation as to what might happen in the future.
