Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
Tenant left place wrecked inside and outside and owes 2 months rent.
Tenant left owing two months rent with no notice. I do not know where the person relocated. The property is a wreck inside and outside. Tenant still has items inside and outside the home. Do I as the landlord have a right to go in and check the premises/remove items is there a grace period?

Yes, as the former tenant has now abandoned the premises and is clearly in breach of whatever lease agreement that may have applied, you as the landlord may certainly enter the premises in order to do whatever it is that now needs to be done to restore habitability to the premises so that it can be rerented to another tenant.

The Virginia Landlord Tenant Act, which may apply provides for the removal of tenant property. Code Section 55-248.38:1
This may or may not apply to your situation, but may be worth discussing with an attorney.
