Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

Termination of Lease

I need to know what the Virginia Law states as far as early termination of a rental lease property? Such as how many months of rent need to be paid to the landlord and how much notice I (the rentee) need to give to the landlord, along with if I would loose my security deposit. Thank You.

Re: Termination of Lease

Whether your lease is governed by the Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act (VRLTA)or some

codified form of the common law, the tenant

is responsible for all rental monies which are due under the lease until its specified termination date, unless the landlord agrees to other arrangements which would allow for the tenant's early termination of the lease.
