Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
verbal agreement
My lease expired in may 2006. In October my landlord asked me if we were going to remain in the place. I stated that we might stay a little while longer but I was not sure. He stated he would get back to me and never did. We gave a 30 day notice to move out in Feb and he now says I had verbally agreed to extend my lease untill May 2007. Would a claim to this verbal agreement be upheld in court. although I never agreed to it?

Re: verbal agreement
No, not necessarily, if you had credible proof to rebut it.
