Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
When the washer tore up in the home we rented, we informed the landlord and also told them the dryer was not working when we moved in. We were told they were as is condition and we could fix them or get another set. We got another set and throwed the old set away. Now that we have moved out the landlord is having a fit because we throwed the set away. Am I responsible for anything?

Why the landlord's fit? He should be reimbursing you (rather than you him) for the fair market value of this washer and dryer which you say you purchased
and left on the premises after you moved out.
