Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

no water

we had a storm on sunday night whoch knocked a tree over and hit the power tranformer. it was repaired on monday we have electric in our house however we are connected to another property that the transformer line pulled the box off the building and we share a well so there is no electric there. i think the landlord would have to get someone to replace the box and power there sooner . we are at day 5 without water and not sure when it will be fixed. what can we do and is there any rent reduction that should be taking off since we now have to buy water everyday and now need to go out to the laundry mat because there is no water comeing to the house.

Re: no water

When does the landlord indicate that the other matter will be taken care of?

If it's not within a reasonable time, inform him that you will have no alternative but to contact the local Health Department and, if necessary, begin paying your rent into a special escrow account at the local general district court until the matter is appropriately resolved.
