Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
Hello, my wife and I rented a house in Virginia that had a swimming pool. This past winter a tree fell in the pool damaging it beyond repair. the landlord chose to backfill the pool the pool becasue it was more cost effective for them rather than fixing the pool. My wife is very unhappy about the whole ordeal. Since we rented a house with the understanding of having a pool to use in the summer, and now we dont, doesnt this constitute a break in the lease agreement on their part? What should i do at this point?

No, I would not consider the disappearance of the swimming pool as constituting
a material violation of the lease on the part of the landlord under the circumstances described.
