Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia
What to do now?
Yesterday, it was raining like crazy when we came back to our apartment the bedroom ceiling was leaking. We went to the management and they told us they were going to send somebody in, no show. Called today, same thing, now there's a big crack in the ceiling. I already had some issue with the mold, which they didn't even care about. I asked to break the lease because I have an infant daughter who's allergic to the carpet. Her pediatrician is supposed to mail me a paper as proof in a couple of days. I'm getting ignored so I called the health department and somebody should be coming tomorrow. Would they evict us for getting the state involved?

Re: What to do now?
No, not as long as you keep paying your rent when due.
