Accused of cheating on exam

I am a student a university where the honor system is taken very seriously. My grandmother died during my final exams and i got a postponment to makeup the exam. The professor wrote emails saying your on your honor not to get assistance on the exam and then sent an email saying later that he was mailing the key to everyone. I wrote him and told him i need to do the makeup so just in case he was sending it to me too. He emailed me back saying: i took you off the list so you shouldn't get it. I got it but threw it away without opening as he suggested in case that happened. i got the test and got a 100 on the final since i had a month to study just chemistry. I had a C-/D i believe before the exam. He says told the bio department head about it and he emailed me saying he wants to talk about my final..basically implying there is something wrong in this. I believe he thinks i got the ?s from other students or opened the key. I did not cheat and studied soooooo hard for this test...what can i do to convince him not to take action or what do i do in general....i could be removed my college!!! I don't think a retake is fair...it's been a while now and i would have to study all over again or something. Please advise me!

Bose Law Firm has experience with the honor code systems of GWU, UVA, and American. Indeed, once an action is lodged, you must have a hearing with the procedures of the school honor board dictating the process of the trial. You should make some attempt to introduce counsel to your school to inquire prior to a charge being lodged. Perhaps a preliminary inquiry on an informal basis will work to your favor.
