Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Virginia

Used Car Problems

I purchased an used 07 Cobalt only 2 weeks ago in VA with 22k miles on it (still have the 3 yr 38k warranty on it). Already, I am starting to hear noise from the brakes every so often. In VA there is no cool off period for car purchase. However, I'm already regretting my decision to buy this car due to the problem that it is having. Can I return this within the 1st 30 days and still get my money back? Does the car dealership have a legal obligation to make sure that the car is running fine within the first 30 days for refund or replacement? There is also a bad smell from the AC when it first starts up. I did not notice these issues when I drove the car around initially. Thank you.

Re: Used Car Problems

No, no 30 day right of return for this used vehicle unless you have it in writing from the dealer(unlikely). And, no, no obligation on the part of the dealer "to make sure that the car is running fine within the first 30 days for refund or replacement" unless included in your warranty (very unlikely).
