Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Virginia

Docking hours

I have worked for a company for 2 and a half years and I have this new manager who has just hired 8 new people and now has cut my hours completely for the week. This is not fair and I have discussed this with my manager and her superior but nothing has been done. It is not my faut she hired several new people she didn't need and now I am paying for it. Nobody else who works there got their hours cut so significantly. I can't afford to not work. Is this legal? what can I do?
