can members of the same law firm ethically conduct outside business together such as acquiring real estate though one of the new members was a former client w/this firm?

So. what (or where) is the unethical

conflict in jointly acquiring the real estate? Merely because a new member was formerly a client at one time should not present in and of itself any conflict of interest.(Of course, however, if the firm was involved in litigating a matter involving real property which it was seeking to purchase with this former client, then that might very well involve such a conflict.)
