Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Virginia

responsibilities for giving monies to help parent

I am the oldest of six. My Mother has passed away and Dad as I know Dad is not my Dad ,Mother never let him adopt me and my Grand Mother raised me till I was 12 then I went with my Mother and Dad as I always called him till I was 16 and I got married .

So they never really donated much to my raising.Mother passed away year ago last April two this April.

Now I just received a letter with deposit slips to make deposits to Dads bank account to help care for him in a Nursing home. Am I responsibal to do this ?Thanks so much Daphne Rose [email protected]

Send the deposit slips back with the explanation that under any relevant Virginia statutes the facts of your particular situation do no create any liability on your part to reimburse the Commonwealth for any Medicaid benefits currently being paid for this particular individual's nursing home care.
