Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Virginia
Violation of Personal Information on Internet
I am wondering if I have a case against a loan company who responded to my inquiry about refinancing my home on the phone. The loan company replied to my inquiry using the Internet with a completed application containing my all my personal information SSN, DOB, credit score, address, etc in what they told me I needed a password to open the file. They informed me of the password being part of my name and last four of my SSN to open their attached file. When I double clicked their attached PDF file, it it opened right away, not prompting me for a password or anything. I notified them this was a problem and my concerns. They wanted me to send the file back to them, laughing I told them I would NOT put my personal information out on the Internet again.
Please advise, if this is worth pursuing, thanks.
Sincerly,
Joe G.

Re: Violation of Personal Information on Internet
What are your indentifiable and quantifiable damages that can be reliably and credibly traced back to this incident? If you're hard put to come up with any, then you have your answer to your question (at least in my opinion).
