Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Virginia
I work in a restaraunt (for about a year) but with the company for 6. For the past year i have been bullied and intimidated by a manager on a weekly basis. I brought it to their attention numerous times and finally filed a formal complaint on the 18th. Had a meeting with my general manager and the manager in question-- I recorded it. My gm did nothing, met with my district manager (he was very angry i taped the conversation, and was noticebly worried about what i might have on tape) and he did nothing, so i called employment services and they launched a full investigation. I am on paid leave until they interview all the witnesses i have provided. Can i ask for compensation for the past year of constant abuse and hostile work enviorment? This manager has had soo many complaints over the years and i believe its the company's fault for my pain and suffering because they never did anything about her years ago.

If you're already on paid leave pending completion of the referenced investigation,
I doubt that the company would agree to reimburse you for anything else for this
previous period, but, of course, you could always ask.
