Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Virginia

Medical question -

Is it a law or just individual hospital policy that requires a patient have someone present to take home after being cleared to go home. Asking because I live by myself, no family members nearby ( have to travel 8 hr+), am private so no associates .. last time I had this type procedure I had to plan weeks in advance for family member to travel here plus pay $$$ for airfare .. just to be released from hospital and go home .. and I was perfectly fine to take taxi.

Any paper work which I can have pre-planned so I can do procedure and leave on my own accord since doctor states I am clear to go home ?

No, no laws involved with this particular issue (as far as I am aware). However, if this

particular hospital policy could be a problem for you, it would seem advisable for you to check beforehand with the particular hospital where you expect to be (if you know it).
