Legal Question in Military Law in Virginia
Active Duty Service Obligation?
I'm writing to find out if an Army Regulation can supercede the law. My ADSO according to the Army is different and higher than the ADSO restriction in Title X. I am wondering if an Army Regulation (AR-600-8-24) can supercede a Title X law which has a restriction on the amount of ADSO that I can be given?

Re: Active Duty Service Obligation?
You appear confused as to the nature of army regulations. Army regulations are part of military law and are every bit as much part of the body of American law as any provision in Title X or other civil statute. As long as the
regulation is being correctly applied, it will likely take precedence over something within the civil body of law which may appear to conflict
with it.
