More than likely he has been declared a deserter and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. This is usually done after 30 days. If so, if he gets pulled over for speeding, etc., and they doa computer check, he will likely be arrested and returned to the military for action. It would be far better for him to turn himself into the military and get this resolved. That way, it will not be hanging over him and he can get on with his life.

There is a warrant out with law enforcement agencies across the country. If he ever is stopped and asked for ID by law enforcement, they'll run him through their computer system, which will instruct them to place him under arrest awaiting the arrival of escorts from his military service. Those escorts will then take him to a base where he will face AWOL charges, along with the other charges he was facing when he went AWOL. He will definitely be placed in pretrial confinement. I recommend he turn himself in as soon as possible. The situation will not improve with time.
