Lawful order?
Was i given a lawful order when my security officer told me i could not have any contact with a certain married sailor?

There is no automatic answer to this question. The presumption is that an order is lawful and that it relates to a military purpose. It will all depend on what kind of contact, the relationship between you and the other sailor, and the purpose the command hoped to achieve from this order. However, from what you described here, it sounds like it would probably not be a valid order or at least be overbroad. There just is no automatic and clear line on these issues. However, the burden will be on you to prove that it is an improper order.
