Legal Question in Military Law in Virginia

How are you doing my Question is: If I am being charged with fraud against the government what is the best and worst case? The fraud is for me putting my ex wife down as my wife and she getting all the benefits as if we are married. I am actually married but was only married for two months. She got the police called on me and we went our seperate ways and never spoke again. This was all before I entered the Marine Corps.

If you were never divorced, then you are still married regardless of whether you actually live together. If so, you have not committed any fraud. If you were divorced, but continued to draw benefits for having a wife, you could be charged with fraud which could result in being sent to court-martial, jail time and/or a discharge. Please feel free to contact me directly so that we can discuss this in more detail. Do NOT talk to any police or investigators from the military until you have spoken with an attorney.
