Legal Question in Military Law in Virginia

Verbal Agreement and Civil Suit..

Hi While My bf of 6 months and I were dating (I lived in NY he in VA)He asked me to purchase many different things for him with the promise to pay back. Including long distance phone cards and collect calls. Which i have the bills for and they add up to over 500$ dollars. HE invited me to va to visit him and i did go several times. He also agreed to pay me back for my expenses(hotel, travel) while there in va. He promised to pay me when he got his tax return. Well he got his return and didnt give me back anything. So Do i have a civil case on the basis of a verbal agreement and promise to pay back??? I have all of my receits and phone bills also phone card receits mind you while he was in iraq serving because he is in the navy. And come to find out he lied about his marital status too. He said he was seperated from but was still married so now i see why he didnt wanna pay back. Also is adultry an offense in military law in virginia? I already filed a warrant of debt by mail to va. When they tell me the court date i will travel there to see if i get all my money back or at least half im thinking if the judge says we must split?? Please help and thanks so much!!!!!

Yes, I think you do have a case against him. You will just have to prove that this was an oral agreement and that he promised to pay you for these things. Adultery is a crime both in the military and in Virginia. I think there is a good chance the judge would award you some damages. Maybe your friend (?) will agree to pay part to avoid having to go to court on this. Good luck. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
