Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

In 2006, while working part time for a large retail chain, I broke my wrist on the job. It required surgery to repair, (a plate and pins) after which workmans comp told me I HAD to return to work after one weeks compensation. I did not sign any type of release and was not given any other type of compensation. My question is this: Do I have any recourse to get compensation? After rehabilitation, I was released by the doctor with an 11 percent disability. This happened in Virginia (23451) but I now live in Florida (33417).

If you mean can you now bring suit for personal injury against your former

employer, the answer must be no, since any recovery for your injury would necessarily need to occur through the Virginia Workman's Compensation program.
