can they change my wages?

I was rehired at a daycare i have worked at for several years. After being there for several months they asked for copies of my diploma, and i informed them i didnt have one. They asked if I had put this on my application, and I informed them that I had, and there had been no falsification. Now they are saying they are going to lower my pay, after i have worked for them for several years, whenever I lived in the area. Can they do this?

Yes, I'm afraid your employer can, unless you're working under the protection of a contract which would prohibit it.
