Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

Cracked Windshield

I just received a notice from another person's insurance agency that I was involved in a ''car accident'' in which ice hit another car's windshield. The cited location of the accident is a ramp that I do not travel on my way to and from work, but it's close, so it's possible that they mixed up the location. Even so, I travel a very busy highway to work. What's keeping these people from having ice from another person's car damage their windshield and then wrongly assume and report that it came from my car? Or just grab the nearest license plate number and report that?

Re: Cracked Windshield

Not much, apparently, except the true facts as you're able to marshall them in your defense against such deliberately false or mistaken claims.
