Herpes Transmission

Is there any legal recourse against a military serviceman who failed to disclose a known herpes infection? Also, upon discovering that I was pregnant I asked him about any known diseases (including sexually transmitted) or illnesses that this person had so that I could report them to my doctor, and was told that he had none. I have recently discovered that he has known about his infection for over 10 years.

I assume you now have herpes and have done a comprehensive STD screen. These can be expensive and difficult cases for many reasons (proof, causation, true or false negative test results, false positive test results, no insurance or assets, etc), but you can certainly try to pursue recourse. Also, your medical and sexual history will also be at issue and that can be embarrassing. These cases are not for the faint of heart. If you don't have herpes or other STD's, you may want to just count yourself lucky and put this behind you, as I am not sure what your damages or injury would be. Good luck.
