Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

Injured in restaurant, tray of food dropped on me

I was in a well-known restaurant on Friday evening when a waitress dropped a full tray of hot food on me. A couple of plates actually hit me on the head. I have been suffering from lack on focus, ringing ears and a dull headache (with a sharper pain at the site where the plate hit my head) ever since. I'm having trouble working today and am not sure if this will pass. I'm very concerned that this might become a prolonged condition. I would like some advice on what I should do.

First, get appropriate medical care. As for the legal issues, unless you somehow caused the incident, the restaurant should be responsible for compensating you for your injuries, including medical expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering. You should retain experienced personal injury counsel to represent you in this matter (In fact, unless there is an epidemic of this sort of thing, I believe you may have already done so. The two things you need to do at once is inform the resturant's manager and see a competent physician to determine what is wrong and how you can treat it. So long as the medical provider concludes your problem is related to the resturant event, you should have little problem getting reinbursed for any medical treatment received.
