Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

I was involved in an auto wreck by hitting a bull on a dark hi-way. I can't work because of this accident. There is a law in my state(VA) & county(Caroline) that says a person is responsable to keep animals in control including livestock. What kind of chance do I have at getting a settlement?
