Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia
I was involved i a car accident july 2010. A tractor trailer fail to yield the right a way and ran into the drivers side of my car and as a result of that i ended up with 2 fractured bones in my back,bad seat belt burn on my neck,concusion,contusions,panic attacks and other bumps and bruises.I am looking to settle this matter out of court with the insurance company if i can. but i am not sure what dollars amount i should start with?this is a free question.

Probably, your medical expenses, a.k.a. "meds", + 3-4 times that amount
for your pain and suffering + a reasonable amount to cover whatever future treatment/therapy might be necessary in the future.
Beware of any initial offers to settle from the insurer which will almost
certainly be "lowballed" as they say in the trade. Not having a lawyer to represent you in the matter will almost certainly work to your disadvantage in negotiating with the adjuster.
