Does lack of auto insurance proclude one from bodily injury recovery?
If one party to a motorvehicle accident is uninsured,is that uninsured party prohibited from suing for personal injuries they sustained?

Not in VA - there is no restriction on who can sue for injuries (the plaintiff's insurance is irrelevant). NJ has some strange rules, so if the issue pertains to NJ, you will have to seek NJ counsel.

The short answer to the question is no. The lack of insurance does not prevent one from suing for a personal injury, or being sued.
The sources of recovery for an injury may be more limited but not the right to make a claim or file suit.
