It is very likely that the minimum contacts basis outlined in such U.S. Supreme Court cases as International Shoe or Shaffer v. Heitner as necesssary in order to sustain such a so-called "long arm" suit have not been sufficiently met in the situation which you've described--at least with respect to your wife, and such a suit against her should not survive her timely motion to dismiss for lack of proper jurisdiction.
