Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

Should I get a Liability Waiver from my Volunteers?

I am just a guy with a camcorder who wants to make a movie and I want to enlist the aid of volunteers as actors. They are not my employees nor are they under contract to me. I do have them sign a Release Form which says I can use the video I shoot for whatever I want, in return they will receive 1% of the profits but the chances of profitability are small. None of the scenes are dangerous. Am I liable for any accidents (or would it be the property owner)? Should I have them sign liability waivers?

Much more information would be needed, particularly, in regard to the participants in this enterprise, before a reliable response could even be attempted.

The fact that the situation you describe is not amenable(at least from my perpective) to a simple response regarding your possible liability, should in and of itself tell you something.
