Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia
When we moved from Virginia to California, I asked someone to take care of our 2 cats in their home and promised to pay them $2,000 for two weeks of stay for the cats. As it turned out, our mission got delayed and the cats are still with this person for nearly 10 months. In the meantime I kept communicating about our situation and how we plan on compensating her generously. She now changed her mind and does not want to give our cats back. I am willing to pay her nearly $20,000 for the two cats. But she is now lying to us that she gave the cats away. I need an very powerful attorney in Virginia and I want to know what are the legal elements that would apply to make a strong argument on how to obtain our cats. I have all the email communications with this person who is impossible to deal with. Please help. Thanks

Warrant in Detinue (for the return of personal property) filed in the Virginia general district court in the locality where the cats are being wrongfully distrained(withheld from their rightful owner) would appear to be the way to proceed in this matter.
